Senior Security Engineer, La Serena

We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our team.In this role, you will play a critical part in protecting the organization's systems, data, and infrastructure against evolving cyber threats.
You will collaborate across multiple teams to strengthen the overall security posture while driving continuous improvements in processes, tools, and practices.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures to safeguard IT systems and sensitive dataTriage cybersecurity-related requests across various teams and manage security ingestion queues to ensure timely handling of issuesDesign, review, and audit automation scripts and tools using Python to streamline IAM processes and improve operational efficiencyDefine, manage, enforce, and review access permissions and entitlements based on least privilege and separation of duties principlesEnsure ongoing compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, and support both internal and external audit activitiesMonitor and analyze security metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions that enhance security posture and efficiencyCollaborate closely with IT, DevOps, and other teams to embed security into development and deployment processes, and contribute to cross-functional projects aimed at strengthening overall securityRequirementsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another technical disciplineAt least 3 years of experience in cybersecurity operations or related rolesHands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, DLP, and similar technologiesProven experience managing projects, designing process workflows, and updating policies, processes, and proceduresStrong problem-solving and analytical skills to investigate issues and drive effective solutionsExcellent communication, time management, and teamwork abilities to collaborate across diverse teamsDetail-oriented mindset with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English at a B2+ level or higherNice to haveIndustry-recognized security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, or equivalent credentials demonstrating advanced expertise in cybersecurityWe offerInternational projects with top brandsWork with global teams of highly skilled, diverse peersEmployee financial programsPaid time off and sick leaveUpskilling, reskilling and certification coursesUnlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning library and 22,000+ coursesGlobal career opportunitiesVolunteer and community involvement opportunitiesEPAM Employee GroupsAward-winning culture recognized by Glassdoor, Newsweek and LinkedIn
